Del Monte Village Garden (DMVG) es un proyecto comunitario creado por y para los residentes de Del Monte Village, en Maryvale. Creemos firmemente que "se necesita un pueblo" para salir adelante.
Del Monte Village Garden (DMVG) is a community project created by and for the residents of Del Monte Village in Maryvale. We firmly believe that "it takes a village" to thrive.

To bring neighbors together through urban agriculture to transform our neighborhood into a stronger, cooler, and more connected place.
✨ Lo Que Hacemos / What We Do
- 🥗 Cultivamos Alimentos / Growing Food:Promovemos la jardinería local y la seguridad alimentaria para que todos tengan acceso a comida fresca. We promote local gardening and food security so everyone has access to fresh food.
- 🌳 Cuidamos el Entorno / Cooling the Environment:Utilizamos la agroforestería para mitigar el calor extremo de Phoenix y crear espacios verdes. We use agroforestry to mitigate Phoenix's extreme heat and create beautiful green spaces.
- 👵 Compartimos Sabiduría / Sharing Knowledge:Creamos un espacio para intercambiar conocimientos culturales y generacionales entre vecinos de todas las edades. We create a space to exchange cultural and generational knowledge between neighbors of all ages.
- 🤝 Unimos al Vecindario / Building Connections:Construimos una comunidad unida y segura donde todos pueden aprender, crecer y prosperar juntos. We build a united and safe community where everyone can learn, grow, and thrive together.

Maryvale is one of the hottest, most densely populated, and underserved areas in Phoenix. This garden is a vital resource to combat high temperatures and flourish together.

La reciente votación del Concejo Municipal sobre el uso de suelo impulsa con fuerza la agricultura urbana y la seguridad alimentaria. Además, apoya la mitigación del calor mediante prácticas comunitarias de agroforestería.
The City Council’s recent land-use vote heavily boosts urban agriculture and local food security. It also supports urban cooling by promoting community agroforestry to mitigate extreme heat.
